what was amazing was seeing them leaping for the fireflies ! Haha
The shoreline is artificial with humongous boulders.. and a small meadowish grsssy area with the fireflies.. The were fed & watered by the Winterized house boaters & had carved out burrows within the rock enclaves.. had straw & bedding etc.. quite the safe harbour marina & docks, restaurant etc, public washrooms - a shot of a lifetime but the area seriously fenced in.. we enjoyed the cavorting & flipping , leaping ..

Dang, I am so sorry you caught it. I was vaccinated and caught it as well in 2022. I worried incessantly because of my autoimmune issues. Oh, it sucked so bad and I had a cough for roughly six months no joke. My ribs started hurting, but it eventually went away. Here is hoping you get plenty of rest and you heal quickly. Sometimes my Siamese cats seemed feral, especially if we DARED to try to introduce a new kitten, which they let me know was NOT going to occur. Gosh, and our Siamese had seemed so benign during normal times. But the growling was frightful. They were so jealous, it was embarrassing!

From 1977-1978, I was stationed with the Marines (judge advocate) in Okinawa, which is a very small island with Pacific Islanders ruled by Japan and surrounded by beautiful coral reef.
Nancy and I still treasure and vividly recall the coral reef and the wonderful people are still in our memories as if we had been there last month.

Yes we love it here. Our annual month of whale watching in our condo turned into a bonus monk seal extravaganza. We haven't been diving on this trip yet because of the storm and now my COVID. But we just dove in Tahiti which was awesome.
