🌺 Maui Mindful 🌺
NOTE: This is a second attempt at my first Substack. My first post didn't have the text in the body because I didn't understand how it worked. Thanks to those who liked it anyway!
My hubby and I have been going to Maui since 2007, and have a place near Lahaina that we visit regularly. Over the years I have obsessively taken photos - much to hubby's annoyance. But I'm grateful I did, they are important historic records.

It has been heartbreaking to witness the destruction from the wildfires that started August 7th. The younger generations fighting for Earth are my heroes. Whether suing fossil fuels, or changing the fashion industry, they are fierce.
It's not difficult to make sustainability changes. I've been driving a clean vehicle for over a decade and have been vegan or have limited my animal protein consumption almost my whole life.
Every bit helps. Thank you to all who try.

Yay! Beautiful photos, powerful message.
After residing in Southern California for an extended period, we encountered numerous significant fires, an unprecedented 500-year flood, periods of drought, earthquakes, wind storms, and frequent power outages. We moved.
I'm at a loss for words to convey the profound sorrow I feel for Maui, its people and wildlife. The lives lost, the cherished memories, the land devastated—it's a level of heartbreak that words cannot capture.
It's really touching when writers share images that hold personal significance for them, which can also resonate and become meaningful to your readers. Thank you.
