Music Matters
So do language, and nature, and books, and friends, and love, and...
For the past few days I’ve been busy, celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary, visiting family, and spending time with my childhood friend who came to visit.
While enjoying amazing landmarks, great music, and delicious meals, I was still mindful of the atrocities being perpetrated on an hourly basis by Trump’s Fascist Regime, from military invasions of blue cites, to mass shootings.
But we can and we must live our lives while also fighting for our democracy.
Music
During this hectic few days I’ve been able to squeeze in some reading and even live music. On Friday night, I finally went to the historic Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood to see my friend “Mr. SuperFantastic” Ty Perkins (NBC’s The Voice).
The 12 piece band plus three glorious back-up singers and Ty Perkin’s iconic voice performed amazing songs in tribute to Lou Rawls and Chicago blues, all benefiting the Wiley Center for Speech and Language Development.

Language
On the subject of language, my dear friends Sarah Tubert and Katelyn Brooke have released their new book! These ladies do it all. Not only are they awesome beach volleyball players, they are actors, stunt women, and American Sign Language (ASL) champions. Mostly, they are pure joy!
The Girl With The CROOKED SMILE
“Lead With Light. Play With Heart.”

Sustainability
Another champion you will want to know about, my dear friend Naomi Stone, (also a volleyball buddy), started an amazing newsletter! Naomi is one of the world’s most innovative entrepreneurs. Founder of the MugenKioku Corporation, she is a leader in sustainability, helping companies go green, working closely with leaders like Congressman Ted Lieu, and is a phenom in every way.

Books
If mysteries are your thing, I just finished my friend Patrick H. Moore’s new book, the 3rd and final in his Nick Crane Thriller series, Giant Steps!
“Author Patrick H. Moore is a wonderfully vivid action writer, effortlessly detailing the gritty chaos and confusion caused by unhinged individuals hellbent on wreaking havoc and mass death. Moore also provides succinct historical context as well as spy craft and criminal law expertise, while underscoring how vulnerable we are to the unthinkable. Something that needs to be addressed now more than ever.”

Friends
Finally, I celebrated my 15th wedding anniversary, joined by my bff of almost 60 years, Beckie and her hubby, first in Palm Springs then Los Angeles.

Thanks as always for your support. I’ll be back with my latest political analysis in a few days. Love you all.

Happy Anniversary! 🥂
They're our daily touchstones in this crazy world. And, happy anniversary 🎉
