One of my brilliant readers said we make the greatest impact by running for office. Today I am proud and excited to announce that our son Michael Coburn is running for one of the 1789 original United States congressional districts, Maryland’s 3rd.
It’s a crowded field, with thirteen other highly qualified Democrats currently running in the May 14th primary. It is a solid blue district, so it is presumed whoever wins the Democratic primary will win the general election.
Harry Dunn is running. He is a national hero, who courageously fought to protect our congress members during the January 6th insurrection on our Capitol. He has a 15-year career in law enforcement, but he is new to politics, and to Maryland’s 3rd district.
Michael is a Maryland attorney who I can personally attest has devoted his life to helping others and making a difference in our political landscape. He has an environmental sciences undergraduate degree from George Washington University and law degree from American University, both D.C. based institutions.
Michael completed internships with renowned environmentalists Al Gore and Henry Waxman. His professional resume includes Talbot County Maryland Prosecutor. As a prosecutor, Michael focused on getting guns off our streets, partnering with the FBI’s investigation into a 3-D gun printing operation that was sending illegal firearms to Maryland gangs. He currently has his own Criminal Defense Practice.
Michael met his amazing wife, Sally, at G.W. She earned her PhD in infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins where she currently holds a full residency. They have two adorable children.
Michael has always dreamed of being elected to the U.S. Congress and when the MD-03 seat opened, he immediately began preparing for the race. Michael will fight for the honor of serving our nation and is up for this important primary challenge.
Please take a moment to read Michael’s amazing background and consider contributing to his campaign HERE. THANK YOU!
Congratulations to your son for throwing his hat into the ring, and to his family, whose love and support are always crucial, and to you and your husband. You have every right to be proud, Lorraine!
Done!
