Lorraine Evanoff: Thank you for sharing the daily wonder that is the Moon.

"One small step for man, one large step for mankind."

An event that is alive to me for a lifetime.

On the other hand, there is the very funny commercial. "Hey, Joe, you gotta see this!" (Astronaut looking at the blue earth from the moon." Joe: "Believe me, Been there, done that. After 15 times it gets old. (Makes a golf shot where the ball goes straight up and lands just before him.) I should have saved with . . . (name of product) and retired . . . "

Against the wonder, I find that commercial hilarious for the old man's cynicism!

I share in YOUR spirit of wonder. Your telephoto lens conveys the series of images beautifully.

Thank you so very much for sharing!

Dancing All Night Long.

Late one night she came to me

Singing songs of love

All that night we sang along

Streaming in the night

Dreams of milk and cream.

Oh dancing all night long

Oh dancing all night long

Little moon wheel and turn

Dance while the night still burns

Dancing all night long.

When I go out at night and look

High above the trees

I see you in the sky

Shining on a darkened earth

Sing to me of love

Shining in the sky.

Oh dancing all night long

Oh dancing all night long

Little moon wheel and turn

Dance while the night still burns

Dancing all night long.

Great shots, Lorraine! The beauty above mirroring beauty below? Hmmm.... Couldn't help my shoolyard self when the thought came .... Who's mooning who?

Lorraine Evanoff's avatar

LOL. Dorian, now I have that Aretha song in my head, Who's Zooming Who? 🤣

Thanks Jonji. It's kind of therapeutic. And therapeutic to hear from all my friends here. 🥰

Wonderful way to embrace the borh/and.

Lorraine Evanoff's avatar

Hans! Hello my new friend. How nice to see you here 🥰

What is Borh/and?

Hans Jorgensen's avatar

Shoot! Sorry. I meant “both/and” but somehow an “r” got in there instead of a “t” - oops! Thanks for checking.

Working as an animator/photographer for a number of defense contractors, DARPA, and our government, I had the complete access to NASA photographic files. Love the pics Lorraine, and the wonder of the planets and our existence… however my experience revealed many strange phenomena that brought pause….

Fascinating...do elaborate!

Far too many things that were shared in the media were laughable, and the most implausible nonsense I’ve ever seen written! I made mono- lithographical overlays of a number of the various areas they claimed were multiple moon locations, funny the rocks and landscape were all the same, like a movie set. The light s on the astronauts helmets came from a variety of different angles, impossible! The pod they landed in had no dust on the feet, unlikely considering the rockets engine that delivered them onto the moon would have been a firestorm of dust and debris. A flag waving as it stood in zero gravity is insanity… tons of other interesting things I’ve shared with other coworkers, none of whom have any belief in that NASA moon mission in 69. They knew very little about the Van Allen radiation belts they needed to pass through, aside from Heiger count reading of previous missions, surrounding the planets and sun at the time. Question if their suits were capable of warding off the intense radiation… maybe… just the tip of the iceberg Kate!

Interesting, thank you. I never think of those things, but will be a better analytical observer now. I thought maybe you were alluding to extraterrestrial things, lol.

Thank you for these! I love your tradition! How inspiring and, as you've observed, perspective-gracing. 💙🧘‍♀️☮️
