I do know, Lorraine, but am currently based in Europe, so between news coverage here, the horror stories from friends/colleagues (fellow scientists getting shafted/muzzled) at home, and the endless howling on Substack, am getting too little positive input. Which I need, so thank you for yours!!!
How could I not? I was in academe, in NIH, in teaching hospitals..and besides all the direct pains too many citizens are facing, I'm watching the deliberate dismantling of health science - that hits everybody. Seriously, Lorraine, thanks for restoring (some) much-needed sense of hope ! :>))
With all that is taking place around us, reminders help keep all of this in perspective.
Your post here on Substack is a worthy reminder of the past that is repeating with a potential built into it to explode into something far more horrific.
Only We the People can stop this by putting aside caution & fear & realizing that the Might Makes Right command-structure ordered by King Don the Turd to his hitmen in ICE, USCBP, & others not attached to known groups but masked and armed along with the so-called "legal" ones, can only be countered by Might, not by words. Words we have enough of, great ones! And they have given us direction & courage.
But the time for We the People to begin facing up to ICE & the others, in their faces, with ultimate courage, is NOW.
