That’s a terrifying thought, but here we are. Lastly, Elon Musk wouldn’t be saying this bill is political suicide for the Republican Party.”

Something keeps lingering on my mind, like a cartoon speech balloon. Elon Musk’s claim that if not for him in 2024, Trump would have lost, and the Democrats would have taken the House, and the GOP would only have 51-49 majority in the Senate.

In the 2024 elections, Musk spent $250 million on a massive misinformation campaign spewing DEI and sexist lies about Kamala Harris starting in June as soon as she was the confirmed nominee. The billionaire owned media covered up Trump’s mental decline. On Election Day, the FBI reported Russians made over 60 bomb threats in blue districts. All of that was election interference handing Trump the win.

But Democrats retaking the House and coming close in the Senate was always considered a long shot because many more Democrats were up for re-election than Republicans. So, did Musk know something we didn’t? Were those elections trending more heavily toward Democrats than the actual results after Musk interfered?

Before the 2024 elections, Democrats passed The Electoral Count Reform Act and did everything possible to protect the vote. But Republicans took advantage of an FEC rule to outsource grass roots campaigns, giving Musk the ability to spend massive amounts via Super PACs. The billionaire owned media does NOT care about profits, it cares about controlling the narrative. The misinformation campaign discouraged 7 million Democrats from getting out the vote. Romania’s Constitutional Court annulled the first round of their 2024 elections for the exact same kind of election interference. So, what does the GOP have planned for 2026?

So, yes, it’s important to keep questioning and learning from 2024 in preparation for 2026. But, in the 2026 midterms, there are more Republican House and Senate seats up for election than Democrats. The DNC along with the DCCC, DSCC, DGA and ASDC, is kicking off “organizing summer” ahead of the midterms. There are growing protests occurring every month. Keep applying pressure. Never give up.
