What the hell happened?

What the hell happened to the Republican Party? Yes, they’ve been craven power mongers for decades, hell-bent on destroying every established federal institution and civil right, from birth-right citizenship to the right to privacy (i.e. abortion). But the GOP has reached a new level of depravity that is hard to fathom, fighting for global dominance by the top 1%, while leaving the rest of civilization to starve.
Now they’re coming for our elections. In March, Trump issued an Executive Order to re-certify every voting machine in the country. This week, news broke of a comprehensive Republican plan to replace all voting machines with the ones patented by dummy corporation head Ivanka Trump, during Trump’s first term.
Also, Trump ordered the Commerce Department to begin a new Census to exclude undocumented immigrants from districts. Only Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution mandates a census every ten years to apportion the number of U.S. House representatives in each state. But Trump wants to bypass the Constitution.
And now, the FBI agreed to help the MAGA Texas governor and AG to hunt down Democratic state representatives for arrest on civil charges for fleeing the state to break the quorum needed to pass new gerrymandering.
My retired FBI agent friend texted me questioning this FBI move. He also sent me the FBI Agent Association message that went viral this week, as well as the public statement by Brian Driscoll, one of two FBI directors just fired (likely illegally). My friend thinks this could all cause a seismic shift within the Bureau.
He too is baffled by the current GOP, likening them to the reputable people who transformed under Hitler as though “dipped in a toxic bath,” or like Star Wars characters succumbing to their vilest instincts, abandoning “the Force” for “the Dark Side”.
These GOP actions are power grabs, but also panic moves, as they try to whitewash the Epstein scandal. Tree hugging environmentalists? Bad. Sex trafficking children? No problem. Republicans have ICE in their veins and a stranglehold on our democracy. But when you hold onto to something too tightly, you will lose it.
Democrats remain defiant. Blue state Governors Newsom, Pritzker, and Hochul are united in their duty to protect voters. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (who was on the short list for Biden’s V.P. in 2020) has been fierce. Bass has built a good reputation with rank-and-file LAPD, according to the police protective league, by attending morning roll call officer briefings. They view her as supportive, whereas not many mayors have made such efforts.
So, as Republicans declare war on democracy, Democrats with a slim minority in Congress, are armed with state constitutions, the courts, local police, and 23 Democratic Governors. The pen is mightier than the sword, but we won’t just bring a pen to a sword fight.
TIME LINE CLEANSE
A quick update on our beautiful mom and baby.
They tried to reunite with family in New York City. But it just wasn’t meant to be.
Shelly and I got them back to Joliet, IL, safe and sound.
We have them in comfortable temporary housing and at least one job offer so far. We will keep you updated. Thank you all for the support and words of encouragement!

But will, eventually, because of physics and all of the sciences we cannot explain, will bottom out and dissolve.
we just need to make sure we are way above their stink bowl.
Example: ICE is having problems with applications for their work demands. ICE offers up-front cash, a big salary, promises of this & that, all of this constantly updated & enhanced because of the problems finding applicants.
But -- they get them. Those "folks" are out there. Offer enough, they emerge. They'll do anything if the "price is right." Even shoot us.
That's the point of Republicans today. They have found that the "price is right" for their dreams to be realities and here we are. Yes, we need a lot more than pens to fight them with and not even Sharpie pens in our hands will do.
With the National Guard now in Washington, D.C., I'm truly afraid it's too late to DO SOMETHING! within our legal frameworks for much longer regardless of keeping the faith.
