As for humor on Substack: I try to be gently humorous in my own newsletter. For humor I also like @KentPeterson @AnneBelov @ERFlynn @SteveBrodner (Brodner is an editorial cartoonist)
Mazel Tov! Here's to more gentle observance and beautiful photos and poems. I'm still "enjoying" Xitter but just don't take it too seriously. I would add to the list: Tim Hogan, Venture Capital (Kelly), Wendy Siegelman, and, of course, J. Michael Luttig. CHEERS!
Tim and I go back a few years. He knows all about the theatre school my son attended and he himself has acted. Wendy is a serious investigative journo, and Venture breaks news about the small print. All the best <3
That's really cool! Hogan is awesome. I added Wendy, but couldn't find Luttig or VC (Kelly). If you have a minute and could send me the direct links that would be great!🙏🏻
Lorraine, try @venturecapital for Kelly, and @judgeluttig for him. I'll check on my phone for them and copy them for you! I'm answering from my desktop. Soon!
Please add to your necessary reading Heather Cox Richardson (Substack) and The Christian Science Monitor (impartial news with integrity). I, too, am grateful for Substack over Twitter (IT WILL ALWAYS BE TWITTER). Thanks for writing!
Thank you, back at you. Just write, as they say. Alas, re Twitter and FB, as an author it's mandatory so I make the most of it. At least making great friends!💙
Thanks for the link, lovely Lorraine. I too am feeling the strain of too many inputs these days. But that's just the way the ebb and flow goes. I like the way you've laid it out here. And I'm jealous of the locale. And glad to hear you're working on another novel. I've been meaning to tell you I really enjoyed the first half of the first one, but got sidetracked. Alas I have all too many half-read books lying about. But I will pick it back up again!
Dear Jonathan. Your daily odes to the sunrise settle me like my morning meditations. Thank you for making it through any chapters of my books. I'm with you on so many half read books. It's an accomplishment to finish any one of them. Never force it.
Ha ha ha! I think my 250 words included the title so we're good. 😆
Thanks for the email ideas. I've had my Yahoo account since I worked in Silicon Valley in the 1990s and I've tried other work-arounds and spam filters, but I really just get that many emails every morning. Most of them are legit. Ugh! FML.
Through the curve of a glass, the sun descends,
Amber nectar glows, daylight's quiet end.
Maui's gentle eve, in January's calm,
Where waves whisper soft, a seaside psalm.
Sky brushed in hues, blue’s soft retreat,
Clouds streak the vast, in sunset’s sweet.
Silhouetted palms, fronds against the light,
Frame tranquil seas, horizons bright.
A balcony's rail, stark lines that hold,
A glass of sunset, a story told.
Nature’s majesty, in quiet display,
Whispers of Hawaii, at the close of day.
OMG! I've been blessed with a poem by Gloria. My day has been made. Tears of joy and gratitude😭🙏🏻💕
Gloria, Gloria, Gloria heavens to beatitudes!
Isn't she great.
Isn't she? 😍
You are such a kind soul.
💕
Given your time constraints, I am honored you spend a little of that time reading as much of it as you do reading some of my work.
Always a pleasure Stanley!
Gorgeous photos! Terrific post. Glad you like the poem.
Thanks infinity. The sunsets and whales have been amazing. The sound of the waves have become my writing music, replacing Mozart💙🌊

Mazel Tov Jonji!
Excellent additions! I read Hogan religiously too, but didn't have the others. Thank you!

VC is: @kelly2277, sorry. Luttig is: @JudgeLuttig.
Enjoy 🙏🏻
You're the best. I found these on Twitter but not Substack. Again, baptism by fire😭🔥
Outstanding. Will/Way ;)

Shoot I forgot to include HCR, I read her religiously! Wonderful additions Angela, thanks!
HCR almost goes without saying ;-)
Yep, in fact I was getting the names from my daily emails but must have missed her. Just added to my piece!
You’re perfect. I hope to be able to find something articulate, uplifting, and meaningful to write someday soon.
Also, x/Twitter sucks!
Thank you, back at you. Just write, as they say. Alas, re Twitter and FB, as an author it's mandatory so I make the most of it. At least making great friends!💙
YES! You are fabulous!
Thanks Laura!! You are!!
We are just so fricking fab! YAY!
We ARE!
Lots of love. And hope I’m an other. 🛗😎
Always Larry! Sorry I tried to fit as many as possible. Did NOT mean to leave you out.
Just teasing you. All good
🥰
Beautiful sun scenes!
I appreciate 250 words or less substacked reads.
That's just me. ☺️
Thanks TBM. I'm with you. Although I wish I had time to read every single Stack, the long ones are really hard to get through without skimming.
BEAUTIFUL SUNSET! Where IS this?
Thanks Armand! Kaanapali, Maui, facing due west.
One of the very nice features about your column is the photography.
Among many, many good qualities. But I love beauty and your photography is beautiful and often full of family fun.
Mahalo for that Armand. I'm an amateur photographer in the true French sense of the word, "lover" of photography, and I love capturing those moments!
.. so refreshing a note thanks.. ! Amen ! & later you can meet Quinn too .. woof eh !

Beautiful sunset, Lorraine. Thank you!
Thanks for reading Paul!💙
I had to create a new Yahoo address for Stack mail. Easy creation for sorting categories: subscriptions, choice comments and Stack reports.
250 words ok. I usually nod off at 245 though.
Be well.
Ha ha ha! I think my 250 words included the title so we're good. 😆

Don't forget sleep ;)
Ugh. After my book is finished I'm going to take a looong break.
Yes I subscribe to her, hilarious snark. Some of the UK news is lost on me but also very informative!
