How to Stop the Stop-the-Steal

Happy Sunday, fellow Resisters. Once in a while Palmer Report doesn’t publish my weekly piece. However, I put a lot of effort and research into my articles to make them concise and informative, so I might as well publish it to my Substack.

This week’s analysis:

Like self-described “dirty trickster” Roger Stone, Republicans are the party of dirty tricks. Even though dozens of Republican officials have been indicted for election interference, and over 1,200 have been charged with federal crimes for January 6^th, they still plan to fight dirty. Let me count the ways.

The Bulwark solved the mystery of why the RNC is funneling $100 million away from traditional campaigning. It turns out they are planning to outsource their campaigns in swing states. The RNC is taking advantage of an FEC ruling sought by democratic legal activist Marc Elias, allowing the RNC to use unlimited and untraceable dark money. (NOTE: It’s risky and will likely fail.)

Dirty Republican operatives are also planning a Stop the Steal 2024 campaign. Two explosive new reports exposed convicted felons Michael Flynn and Roger Stone behind the Stop the Steal efforts. Whistleblower testimony revealed how Michael Flynn led an attempt to kidnap a Fedex employee and force her to sign a fake affidavit about seeing suspicious election ballots. And Roger Stone was caught on tape discussing how the RNC doesn’t plan to spend $200 million raised on “cleaner elections.” Instead, they will challenge election results, use violence, voter suppression, and corrupt lawyers and judges, even implicating Judge Aileen Cannon in the Florida documents case.

Also, Jim Jordan and Stephen Miller have disrupted Stanford Internet Observatory (SIO) disinformation research with an onslaught of lawsuits. And the movie The Apprentice portraying Trump as a rapist and amphetamines abuser may be blocked from release in the U.S. before the November elections. These are the same authoritarian tactics used by far-right leaders, like Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, to silence opponents.

Swift Boating tactics have also begun, with dissemination of heavily doctored videos of Biden. The Trump campaign has hired Chris LaCivita who Swift Boated Vietnam War hero and Medal of Freedom recipient John Kerry, during his 2004 bid for the White House. These are the same Active Measures that got Roger Stone indicted for coordinating talking points with Russia to fake a video making it appear Hillary Clinton had a stroke during the 2016 election cycle.

And Sinclair Broadcast Group is coordinating a misinformation campaign against Biden, using false news reports written by right-wing extremist Jackson Walker for Sinclair’s “Rapid Response Team.” When called out by Judd Legum, Sinclair issued a vehement denial. But that means shit considering Republicans have fully embraced the Joseph Goebbels Big Lie strategy.

It's important to expose these GOP tactics so we know what we’re up against. It’s also important to assure voters that Democrats are taking action to counter these attacks.

The Forth Estate is still doing its job, despite the failings of much of mainstream media. Courageous left-wing Lauren Windsor and Ally Sammarco (HBD Ally) went undercover to expose Roger Stone and help thwart their Stop-the-Steal efforts.

Democratics are on the job. The Electoral Count Reform Act (ECRA) and the many election victories have made elections in swing states safer. The group Black Voters Matter has launched a voting rights campaign. The U.S. Surgeon General is calling for warning labels on Social Media. House Democrats launched a task force to counter Project 2025. Biden is being globally recognized for his masterful economic and international diplomacy achievements.

The GOP can continue to comport themselves like cartoon villains. Democrats will continue to fight fair with love and good intentions for all Americans.
