Why don’t MAGA listen to reason? It seems analogous to the dynamic between husband and wife. For example, if I offer advice to my husband, he will vehemently argue against my common-sense suggestions. Then he’ll turn around and tell me about some advice he got from a friend that is identical to what I already said, and I’m just grateful someone got through to him. The lesson here is not the message. It’s the messenger. But would MAGA even listen to God?
After years of the media’s anti-Biden misinformation and lack of coverage of Biden’s unprecedented accomplishments, I now understand the explosive enthusiasm for Harris-Walz. It’s the fresh timbre of their campaign messaging. Biden is from the old guard: if you don’t have anything nice to say about someone, don’t say anything. But, the Harris-Walz campaign has taken over the narrative with fierce trolling, which is what many had complained was lacking.
Biden’s approach got us this far. Now the Harris-Walz strategy is to turn Trump’s messaging against him. Get under his skin. And it’s working. By immediately pouncing on every weird Trump campaign message and by deriding the evil GOP platform, Harris-Walz are forcing the Trump campaign to panic and compound their mistakes.
For example, the political jujitsu of the Harris-Walz campaign has diffused the right’s biggest talking point, the border, placing the blame squarely on the GOP. By flipping the script, the Harris-Walz momentum is even beginning to fix the broken polls, which are starting to more accurately reflect the actual voter turn-out and over performance in recent special elections.
Harris-Walz are even forcing the corrupt media to do its job and report the truth. CNN cut away from Trump’s press conference to fact-check him, and PBS and AP reported on Trump’s lies afterward. Nicolle Wallace stated that, “if today’s event is anything like last week, then you can understand why we’re choosing not to broadcast it here in real time.”
Even Biden is in on the gag, boldly calling out Trump’s white supremacist base in interviews, and coining a new Trump moniker, “Donald Dump.” I contend that Biden knew the only way to flip the switch and start this kind of messaging was to withdraw from the race, on condition that Kamala Harris be the candidate. Biden is an eternally wise old man. As Bill Murray’s character Phil Connors from the movie Groundhog Day said, “Maybe God isn’t omnipotent. Maybe he’s just been around so long, he knows everything.”
Or maybe the critical mass of news consumers demanding the truth in reporting is flipping the narrative. Perhaps God is just a collective of souls, and we the voters decide our fate. On November 5th, VOTE BLUE!
Men do not listen well! Well said about our current political dynamic.
I am a fan of the people of the United States. When I visited your amazing country I was impressed by the respect and tolerance I saw all around, practiced by hard working, beautiful people. I am in no way criticising those folks. I met Republicans and Democrats, and those that have opted out, and either never voted, or did not intend to again.
The entire world, in one way or another, has an interest in the US doing well. But Trump and his mob captured an audience leading up to 2016 that points to a huge number of citizens that were,(and are) sick of the same old promises being made, while their day to day lives reflected the fact that nothing had changed. And if it did, it was not for the better as far as their lives were concerned.
I’m Irish. Believe me, we get America and it’s people. To insult them would like me insulting my own, to a large extent. I hope my comment did not come across that way. I am genuine in my concern for the health of your political system. Dump has hurt my eyes and ears for far too long now. So annihilation of the dump would be fantastic. It’s what comes afterwards that concerns me. Assuming all goes well and a defeat is accepted and Harris is able to set about her business, I hope she delivers.
