I'm having an art exhibition opening June 6 at a winery and I just finished the exhibit book! I'm pleased and I think it's cheerful which is what I'm aiming for. You're the first to see this link (free preview) https://www.blurb.com/b/12431156-the-owl-and-the-pussycat-art-album

“The Owl and The Pussycat” was my favorite book as a very young child. I asked for it over and over until I had memorized it and knew exactly when to turn the pages. My mom thought I’d learned to read, lol!

Just had a wonderful double dose of Jewish culture and wisdom today: Scott Gerber, the Jewish cowboy singer, and Leah Gerber, musicians and singers of Yiddish folk songs ++ a concert by the Jewish Folk Chorus of San Francisco!

Ahhh the moon...both the moon and the cat are gorgeous! I've decided to go back to soap making. It's one of those simple, mindless kind of hobbies. They look and smell nice too. Maybe it will distract me at least for a few hours here and there from this horror show unfolding right before our very eyes. I've missed your posts on Palmer Report. You're one of my favorite writers on there.

Oh soap making is such a cool science/art, Ann! There's so much more to it than most realize. Please keep us posted!

I'll definitely be submitting a new Palmer Report piece in the next day or so. The renovations and non-stop news have made it hard to focus but I have a great subject matter. Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. You keep me going, Ann!!

Lorraine Evanoff: LOVE your photographs and your ways of encouraging us with cheer in very hard times, which have the very dark humor, monstrous satire of openly evil and perverse actions.

Seen apart from human tragedy, the events of the monstrous administration are darkly very, very funny, because they are so perverse.

At 10 years old, 1958, I was reading this stuff in Mad Magazine with Alfred E. Neumann and his Speaker-Johnson type sheepish grin.

Now Mad Magazine plays out.

But with tragic consequences.

So, it is tragic and evil and agonizing when people are sent to Salvadorean torture cells.

Etc., etc., etc. --- we know the details, the show of horror, as it daily unwinds.

Lots of activities keep me from publishing, but a series of articles, including in "Foreign Affairs" and "Legal Tribune Online" yield good news.

E.g., How about that election, yesterday, in Rumania.

Continuing the middle-road-left victories in the UK, Canada, Australia, Poland, Rumania!

I really have hopes for 2026.

A proper Congress can reassert Article I Powers for the long-term safety of our democracy.

It's truly stranger than fiction, Armand! America is the enemy? Wow.

The news out of Romania just brings so much joy.

You and everyone here give me hope. TBH, it's been really rough, hard to stay strong. But I'm staying focused on the prize. Thank you!

Great to hear about the renovations and you realize the importance of self care. You have to do so much and it amazes me the breath of your accomplishments. Thanks for the great pictures.

It's the most important thing we can do right now, Stanley. For those saying we don't have time for self care are probably not even really doing anything to protest what's happening. Their whole goal is to wear us down. We can multi task and also take care of ourselves. Thanks as always for reading and commenting. Hope you're well.

I did a two year “gut” renovation on our home during Covid. You will survive and be thrilled at the end of it. It is a worthy creative distraction.

We're definitely gutting the whole living side of the house, Nancy. It's much needed. Good bones. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I think it will do this old house justice. Thanks for commenting!
