Slow down.
A friendly reminder to please slow down.
Sometimes life forces us to take a breather.
Last Sunday, September 7th, at 8:00am, I was rushing to leave for beach volleyball after getting up at 6:30 am to clear out the old kitchen for demolition Monday. I went to put my coffee cup in the sink, it shattered, instantly slicing my finger!
All plans changed. By 11:00 am, eight stitches, Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana ER is amazing, BTW. Beach volleyball was cancelled, but I went right back to clearing out the old kitchen. Ever since then, I have been extra mindful - and typing much more slowly, LOL. RIP my favorite mug 💔😭

I shared this message on social media too, as a reminder for everyone to slow down, and to explain why I’ve been absent, not posting or responding as often.
My Frankenstein finger is healing well. The color of the suture thread is pretty awesome. Kinda punk rock.
So, wishing you all a restful Sunday. Watch football, go to brunch and have a mimosa, read a book, or just veg out on the sofa.
All is as it should be…
TIMELINE CLEANSE
September 7th was also the full moon, the Blood Moon. The ER doctor told me that emergency visits increase during the full moon. Another reminder.
Ironically, I missed the Blood Moon rising over the canyon because I had slowed down. But I captured these photos after it was above the trees.

Here are some photos from the August Sturgeon moon, and the July Wolf moon coming up over the hill to give you an idea what I missed.

Oh, on September 9th, my Zen Master, Floofles, came back after almost two weeks MIA. Everything looks different after our remodel, but she seems to approve. 😻
BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS

It’s been a marathon renovation, and it’s still a work-in-progress. But considering it has only taken three months to get this far, it’s truly like a miracle.
Namaste 🙏🏻

I sustained a pinky slice a few years ago bumbing into a glass vase. After getting the 8 stiches, I thought I should celebrate still having 10 fingers by learning to play guitar.
Great reno project Lorraine but that finger is a bit of a nightmare. So slowing down is probably a good idea for all of us. I’m a bit(🤣)of an Outlander(by Diana Gabaldon) fan and have been for a few years now. It’s in this vein that most of my FBing concerns Outlander so I make it a point to post a picture of my Outlander calendar every weekend. For this last one I posted Friday I noted that weekends seem to come around faster now that I’m old. True for most of us were we to admit it. Life is short so the message is, don’t waste one precious second of it. Heal well my friend.
