I sustained a pinky slice a few years ago bumbing into a glass vase. After getting the 8 stiches, I thought I should celebrate still having 10 fingers by learning to play guitar.
That's how I feel about it too Jayen. The ER Doc said hand and finger injuries are the #1 injury in the ER. So it's pretty common. How cool you play guitar!
Great reno project Lorraine but that finger is a bit of a nightmare. So slowing down is probably a good idea for all of us. I’m a bit(🤣)of an Outlander(by Diana Gabaldon) fan and have been for a few years now. It’s in this vein that most of my FBing concerns Outlander so I make it a point to post a picture of my Outlander calendar every weekend. For this last one I posted Friday I noted that weekends seem to come around faster now that I’m old. True for most of us were we to admit it. Life is short so the message is, don’t waste one precious second of it. Heal well my friend.

Save time for now and check out Diana Gabaldon: “Outlander”. First book in the series but by far, the best one IMO. There is a lot of really good writing and such emotion that’s hard to convey here. Suffice it to say, many things she wrote helped me get through my husband’s death in ‘22. He, by the way, loved the show. IF you want to do a bit more with it, the first 6 1/2 seasons are on Netflix if you are good with that. Otherwise, all 7 seasons are on STARZ.

The finger looks painful. Hopefully healing well though! Many years ago I was washing a glass, in a hurry, that I hadn't realized was cracked. Crammed my hand down in there and sliced the side of my pinky finger. Definitely good advice to slow down. I need back surgery so I have no choice but to move at a slower pace than I'm used to. The moon photos are my favorites. I think the full moon gives us energy. Who knows. Your renovations in each room look amazing. But some how I'd still want the room with the lime green paint and the blue table replicated in another room. A room you can be yourself in.
Oh Ann that's so scary! It always happens so fast. Thanks for the kind words on the house. My hubby can do the apple green in his man cave if he wants. That was his color in the first place. It was pretty but our new color palette just didn't allow for it. There's also a new laundry room and a new back bedroom with en suite that I didn't share. That will be my little yoga space. Very Zen!
Ohhh yes to the yoga spot! Enjoy! We need that more now than we ever have. I live near RRG in E. Ky. A very popular hiking area in the mountains. Before my back injury that is where I would go to regain my calm.

That's right, Lisa! It was an eclipse that night too, just not in our region. Thanks for the healing words. There wasn't much pain after the initial yuckiness. It was pretty gross. The renovations have been exhausting but so worth it! 😻
I'm sure your finger tried to keep red in the color scheme, which entailed more clean up once sewn up. It was an eclipse in SoCal at 11:08 AM that day. PST. I hope you'll have some time to really relax soon. So hard for some of us to do but oh, so necessary!
Oh is that right? I read the eclipse was only visible in the southern hemisphere or something. I had literally walked outside the ER at 11am. Maybe I just missed it? Anyway thanks again Lisa!
You are right. It was not visible here, but that doesn't mean that it didn't happen at 11:08 our time. We just couldn't see it. I could email you some of the literature I read about it if you're interested. That's why I mentioned 11:08 AM because you wrote that you stepped out of the hospital at 11 AM. I wrote something at 11:07 because I knew it was about to be the moment.

Stanley! I'm thrilled with how quickly the remodeling is going! Everyone kept saying 8 months, because that would be normal in normal times. But apparently we found great contractors and business is slow these days because of interest rates and such. So very lucky timing. And I always believe everything happens for a reason. Even this dumb injury. Namaste 🙏🏻
Nicely done I admit… your husband needs a table saw, planner, bandsaw, router table and a few tools in his man cave. Rushed behavior always leads to maladies, when least expected, your finger looks much better than many of my little whoops moments, mine are usually bumps and bruises, but I’ve had my share of lacerations and butterfly stitches as well. Sláinte!
LOL, Patrick! Don't give him any ideas! He already has all that stuff custom made in the garage anyway. This was our compromise, he used to use that huge new kitchen area for his man cave and the cigar smoke stank up the whole house. Now he has a cozy man cave for his smoking.
And yes, I'm amazed how lucky I got with this injury. So many stitches for such a little pinky. But it's healing well. Hugs!
Yikes Lorraine, I’ve breathed far too much cigar smoke, and a variety of toxins in my life! Stinking up the house, especially the kitchen should be a crime!
