There is a real double standard.
KH is critiqued for her evolution on certain policies and her calculated campaign vagueness on a variety of issues that she could not push anyway, with a split House and Senate and Conservative Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, do the networks scream out loud about "immigrants poison our blood" or "they eat our dogs and cats . . . They eat their neighbors' pets . . ."?!?!
Frustrating.
And then Congresswoman Debbie Dingell warns of possible loss of the election.
If that WERE to happen, it would show America up as a dystopia.
In my book, Kamala Harris is doing everything right.
Everything.
Future President Kamala Harris hits all of the nuances exactly right.
I maintain: Our future President doesn't have to clarify all policy. There are future contingent, as yet unknown, events. There are the vagaries of policy negotiations between the White House and the Congress.
Meanwhile, we have a clear, very clear picture of which Party is or IS NOT: (1) Representative of our core values as a Democracy in the heritage of Ancient Athens and Pericles; (2) A Republic with limited and balanced powers as Polybius wrote of circa 125 BCE; (3) The values of Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay; (4) Equality and Dignity for All who legally dwell in the United States; (5) Opportunity for the Middle Class; (6) Quality Education for all who are able, with subsidies to the able who cannot afford; (7) Support of Israel and Ukraine COUPLED WITH condemnation and accountability for the bombardment of Palestinian humanitarian sites (hospitals; ambulances; mosques; churches; refugee camps; food trucks -- with thousands of women and children dying); (8) Strengthening of our alliances and deterrence to dictators; (9) Sustainability of the environment and production of ready sources of clean energy; (10) Innovation and full employment; and (11) Fair and distributed tax system.
Those are the core values of Kamala Harris, our future President, and those core values are plenty specific for Armando.
Trump is the most pathetic of self-pitying men conceivable.
And you, Ms. Lorraine Evanoff, have your heart and mind in exactly the right cause and you write with a very fluid pen.
Lorraine, you have just provided me with a huge amount of relief! I just said to my husband today that I was afraid people weren't taking this seriously. Now I know they are! DT is a dangerous, unscrupulous, unqualified, and despicable person. I'm happy there are forces behind the scenes, moving in the right direction. Thanks for writing this!
I also either read or heard on Keith Olberman’s podcast today that DHS is taking steps to harden the US Capitol ahead of the electoral vote count in January. It was reported that security will be as tight as any mass event(Super Bowl)would be. I would imagine there will be other, less publicized efforts to harden the Capitol. So while 1/6/21 was a trial run for the likes of trumpists, so too was it a trial run for DHS and any other agency charged with security.
I've also read the WH has been reassuring the public that the National Guard and other law enforcement are fully under the control of the president and will be deployed if needed.
When we went to DC the 4th of July 2021, after January 6th insurrection and I was very nervous. But when we got there it was a total sense of peace and calm. They really know how to run a country!
Informative and to the point. I feel like Democrats have finally found their voice. Standing up to the bullies and pointing out the lies while countering with the truth. Really embracing ALL Americans, who as Harris has said, "Have far more in common than differences" and really letting them know they are seen.
