Time's Running Out

We are almost at the 250-day mark until the midterm elections and instead of trying to help Americans, Republicans are trying to kill us. While they waste time attempting to inoculate themselves from losing the House and Senate with a federal voter disenfranchisement law, time is running out.
Congressional primaries begin March 3rd in Arkansas, Texas, and North Carolina; March 10th in Mississippi; March 17th, in Illinois, the same day Chicago dyes the river green, they should dye it blue this year!
Instead of dealing with affordability and healthcare, the GOP is threatening our lives. Not only with DHS, ICE, Border Patrol, and war with Iran. But also, with disease and starvation. Enhanced subsidies for Obamacare have expired, (although 10 blue states continue to at least partially fund tax credits). Insurance premiums have increased 114% and prescription drug prices are skyrocketing, while Affordable Care Act sign-ups are tanking. The uninsured rate, financial hardship, and strain on hospitals are surging. To pay for food and rent, 200,000 people PER DAY are donating blood.
Meanwhile, the head of the Department of Health & Human Services RFK Jr. is play-acting at being a healthy role-model in a demented video working out in a hot sauna with sickly Kid Rock. Did I mention RFK Jr. started a measles outbreak and is replacing doctors and scientists with AI slop? RFK Jr. also supports the Trump administration’s announcement to ramp up production of the toxic herbicide glyphosate, creating an uproar among RFK Jr.’s own MAHA base. The GOP is now literally choosing poison for profit.
Meanwhile, the FDA, which used to be the world’s biomedical regulating gold standard, has been taken over by political hack Vinay Prasad. Research of mRNA, the “software of life” that can be engineered to defend us against infectious disease and even cancer, has been gutted. Over at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) director Jay Bhattacharya, who opposed COVID lockdowns, is now also acting director the Center for Disease Control (CDC), which has been without leadership since Trump’s return to the White House. Are they crossing their fingers there won’t be another pandemic, or that there WILL be another pandemic? Who knows anymore?
Americans are sick of it and would like a do-over of the 2024 election. If given a mulligan, voters would pick Kamala Harris over Trump. Of actual 2024 Harris voters, 89% plan to vote Democrat in the midterms, while only 83% of Trump voters will vote Republican.
The midterms are fast approaching, and the GOP is on life support. Americans can fix this. Make sure your voter ID documents are in order. Democratic leadership will fight any attempt by the GOP to steal the midterms. But we must do our part and VOTE BLUE!

For those new to Floofles, she’s a feral cat living in our wild canyons.
Exactly 10 years ago, she had kittens in our yard. So, I successfully Trap-Neuter-Released (TNR) her after the kittens weaned and have been feeding her ever since.
She’s an amazing survivor living in the wild among coyotes, bob cats, and other critters. About three years ago, she started eating just inside our back door, but always runs out as soon as I come near her.
This is the first time she’s come all the way inside! 😻

Lorraine, a year ago I said that Trump is trying to kill us. I believed it then and that certainty has only picked up steam. What I find perplexing is this: Why has no one attempted to “return the favor?”
