The Real Heroes

For every Republican iniquity, there’s an equal and opposite heroic response. For example, Trump’s nominee to head the Federal Reserve Kevin Warsh’s resume may show his pedigree, but his writings show his incompetence for the job. Jerome Powell agreed to resign denying GOP fanfare for Warsh’s confirmation, while also heroically opting to remain on the Federal Board of Governors, something not done since 1948. So, Powell will be looking over Warsh’s shoulder for two more years.
Trump tried to use the White House Correspondents Dinner shooting to unite the fractured Republican party and garner support for his ball room. But, the next day during a 60 Minutes interview, host Norah O’Donnell baited Trump by quoting the shooter saying, “I’m no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.” O’Donnell then asked Trump, “What’s your reaction to that?” Trump’s Nixonian reply was, “I am not a rapist.” Then with impeccable gotcha timing, O’Donnell said, “Oh, you think he was referring to you?” LOL!
Other heroes include the Pope who appointed THREE anti-Trump Bishops, one from El Salvador who was smuggled into the U.S. in the trunk of a car. King Charles who brought Democrats and Republicans to their feet cheering for democracy. Democrats who forced Congress to only extend FISA for 45 days, instead of making it permanent. House democrats who humiliated Hegseth and EPA head Zeldin during hearings.
Democrats also won the DHS Funding fight ending the shutdown, while denying additional ICE funding. And twenty-four nations have now signed the “Expanded Partial Agreement of a Special Tribunal” for Russia’s crimes against Ukraine.
And, while the SCOTUS ruling on Callais, (with the Purcell principle not even considered) is infuriating, it may already be backfiring. The Georgia State Supreme Court is in play with strong pro-women’s-rights, pro-fair-maps justices running in 2026, and according to Joyce Vance, Alabama courts possibly challenging Callais.
Democrats offer real solutions to Republican chaos. While claiming Democrats are weak on crime, Republicans hammer home a disingenuous anti-crime agenda in the billionaire-controlled media. But key issues for most voters are prices, inflation, jobs, the economy, and health care, with crime making up only 3% of voter concerns. Meanwhile, Democrats have repeatedly thwarted the Trump regime’s crimes in court.
Democrats must drive home the message that they are better for the economy while staunching rampant Republican corruption. In Shakespeare’s Henry VI, Dick the Butcher’s quote, “Let’s kill all the lawyers,” is often misinterpreted as a jab at lawyers. But the line is in fact a tribute to lawyers protecting democracy.
In the 2018 midterms the 47% voter turnout was the highest since the 49% in 1966. November 3rd, we must smash all records with over 50% voter turnout.
Vote like it’s1966!
SPEAKING OF THE 1960S
My beautiful sassy mom jude baker had me that decade.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY EVERYONE!

SURPRISE!
It’s turns out somehow my post last week continued a 14-week streak!
FLOOFLES UPDATE
As some of you know, if Floofles goes AWOL, I don’t mention it until she returns. Well she was AWOL for 10 days but two days ago she returned! 😻
Namaste 🙏🏻

Voter malaise is what led to the situation we're in today. People had better wake up! Love the pics, as always, and please wave to Floofles for me. Happy Mother's Day, all you moms 💙
Distressing to read less than 50% voter turnout in midterms. I like that the Pope Appointed 3 anti-trump Bishops but saddened it is even a distinction in the Church. Stopped going to church when the Archbishop of the Washington DC diocese questioned where President Biden should receive communion! That was it for me.
